Biography Hi Fi Princess:

Lori the HiFi Princess aka Lori J. Ward

From 1993 on, International DJ Hi-Fi Princess aka Lori Ward established herself rapidly in the underground party scene in her hometown Victoria in Canada. Her love for music evolved fast into a strong desire to start spinning.

Loris first ..little.. breakthrough was her quirky electronic house and tech sound that she developed between ..95 and ..98, that quickly expanded her territory throughout the West Coast of America and across Canada.

At the end of that period in ..98 she decided to head off to Europe and finally landed in London where she soon held two residencies and additionally made appearances at club 333 Old Street. After only six months, Luxury U.K. promotions organized an offer for a weekly residency in Luxembourg..s Evolution that she accepted and therefore had the opportunity to play alongside some of the ..most wanted.. in the scene like Timo Maas, Gayle San and Ritchie Hawtin.

From here on, Miss Ward was continously taking part in the ..ever-changing.. music scene in Europe and kept on evolving her sound into a sophisticated mix of Techno and Electro. While touring through Europe she found herself again on stage with great Djs like Joachim Garraud, Jeff Mills, Boy George, Tom Novy, Valantino Kanzyani and Adam Beyer. Additionally, the Hi-Fi Princess stood behind the decks in some of the most wanted clubs and festivals in the world! A few examples are The Tunnel in New York City, Liquid Club in Madrid, Koneisto Festival in Finland, Mazzo in Amsterdam, the Sona in Montreal, Turbo in Toronto, 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, Klub Kuaille in Tokyo and Cittadella in the Czech Republic and her residency Suncity in Graz (Austria). Loris first release was on Shimmy Recordings in 1999, her track ..Refused Entry.. came out within the ..Collective Thoughts EP.., that soon gained great reputation by some of the top Dj..s of the scene.

After having lived in New York City for four successful years (..98 till ..02), she made the decision to move back to Europe where she found a new home in Vienna, Austria. Her interests fixed in the studio, while still having the stuffed Dj-schedule, what meant hard work and patience.

In 2004 she took the next step of her carreer and released her first album under the alias Lori J. Ward. ..Foreign Communication.. is a 13 track downtempo cd, available at www.ebl.cc and beatport records. It was re-signed again to Chill ball music. Soon after that she also signed to Highball Music, while one of her tracks entitled ..Disastermind.. (available on Join Us Records) emerged and was signed to the Love Parade Berlin 2004 Compilation and five other large european dance compilations.

Finally another track of her album ..The New Xavier.. was nominated out of 11.000 entries into the top ten for the International Song Contest, and additionally received an honorable mention!

Leaving behind this wave of success, Lori J. Ward decided to try something new and fresh, and started to sing as well. The multitalented Lori therefore founded a new project together with Tobias Frick in 2005. The live act is called ..Phonix.. and includes her fascinating voice! Her vocal career was somehow rushing into her life. On her ..Phonix.. album ..House of Jive.. her voice is part of electro-breaks-down tempo and rockish. And as the new vocalist for Greeks successfull House-export Kevin Sunray, she released one of the top hits on the dance charts in 2006 that held the number one sales position on decks.de for three weeks: Kevin Sunray & Agent Greg feat. Lori J. Ward, ..Breathe Easy…

Lori J. Ward and Tobias Frick will have their first release on Unlove music. Their track ‘Design Me’ will be released in July 2007 with remixes from The Whiteliners, Kevin Sunray, Falko Nestolik and Eddie F.. For more infos on ..Phonix.. have a look at www.phonix.com

‘Breathe Easy’ on Caballero Records, lori has had many requests as a vocalist. Recently, thanks to ..Breathe Easy.. , Lori has teamed up with many sucessful producers including Kevin Sunray, Mario Ochoa, Dj Alexsij, The Whiteliners and many more.

Upcoming tracks including Lori on the vocals are ..True love.. – Mario Ochoa feat. Lori J. Ward on SICK Music, ..A Better way.. – The Whiteliners feat. Lori J Ward and ..No Solutions.. -Dj Alexsij Feat. Lori J. Ward. Any of these prone to continue to hit the charts!

Lori J. Ward with her ever changing style, as unexpected as unforeseeable, performing live with ..Phonix.. and djing house/electro. At several live acts she already caught people with her carismatic and soft voice and dj skills, from the eye of the beholder it even looked like there was a little star shining as if already rising … Since 2007 her homebase is in Vienna, Austria, where she continues to work in her studio, play her dj gigs, and suprise all the people around her!! Watch out!

Style: Techno & Tech-House

Biografia DJ HARDTRAX :

German/Mauritian techno-DJ and producer HardtraX aka Rudi Holzgreve was born in West Germany in 1981. He discovered his love for electronic underground music at the age of eleven before he made his first experiencies in producing techno in 1997. At that time, he was using Amiga computers to produce various tracks in different styles of music from techno, over deep house, acid, tech-house, trance, ambient, jungle and hardcore. Then, after a two-years-break he focussed on producing hard underground techno tunes and occasionally composing hardcore tracks. In 2001 he met Jackhamma and in 2002 they started producing together and have been performing live on several locations in Germany as “HardtraX vs. Jackhamma”. After having released some tracks and remixes on different labels (Plug’n’Play Rec., Distorted Rec., Tekk-Tribe), HardtraX teamed up with Jackhamma to found their label “Dark Force Recordings” in 2003 as a platform for their numerous hard, dark and straight-forward techno-tracks. Their first record on Dark Force Recordings named “Evil Frequencies” reflect their hard-hitting, yet atmospheric, twisted and kicking technostyle. The following releases were also used to promote other artists and new talents in order to show the complexity and diversity of their preferred styles of techno music. HardtraX has released on several other labels (for e.g. Tool Terror, Cannibal Society Records, Matame Records, Crowbar Records, Friendly Fire Records, Methadon Records) and had gigs as a DJ aswell as live along with Jackhamma in several locations in Germany and abroad (France, USA, Malta, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands etc.). Furthermore, he is the co-owner of the German hardtechno-label “Plug’n’Play Records” and was amongst the first artists to shape the sound of a musical style that is nowadays known as “hardtechno” and has thousands of followers worldwide.

Biografia Rafael Araujo :

Trabalhos em estúdio com DJs internacionais: Cyber Steve (Snap n Crackle), Darcmarc (Stay Up Forever / Cluster), Thermobee (Bang On), Geezer (Stay Up Forever / RAW), Patrick DSP (Cluster) e Ilan Kriger (BR909).

Casas noturnas em que apresentou: Rave, Konys, Yutz, The Tube, D-Vinyl, Callas, Circus, Studio 1250, Moinho São Roque, Chronic, Shiva, Upp, The Hall, Jockey, Temple, Vibe, Mediterrânea, Cats, Bass Club, Cabral, Muzik Loft, Heaven, Stereo Pub e Le Freak. Fora da capital paranaense já tocou na Lov.e (São Paulo/SP), A Loca (São Paulo/SP), Rancho Mariás (Camboriú/SC), São Roque (Balneário Camboriú/SC), Caribean (Caiobá/PR), Alquimia (Foz do Iguaçú/PR), Ibiza (Balneário Camboriú/SC), Bielle (Cascavel/PR), Camorra (Blumenau/SC), Space (Guaratuba/PR), Juke Joint (São Paulo/SP), Warung (Itajaí/SC), Se7en (Joinville/SC), Beats (Campo Largo/PR), Oxy (Foz do Iguaçú/PR), Djunn (Balneário Camboriú/SC), Ibiza (Balneário Camboriú/SC), Heaven Electrolonge (Curitiba/PR), Antiworld (Londres/UK), Big Fish – Technose, Acid Park, Popero e Eletrogralha.

Biography Nuwerk Live PA:

Niko, aka Nuwerk, proposes an energetic techno sourced by electro sequences and analogical sounds…
Fan of new-wave and EBM bands, he released in 1994 his debut album under the name Asphyx Squad. This project was built around the idea of a mixing commando, capable of integrating different types of sounds (like the song voice in leitmotiv)… During 1999, Niko joined the production team of Radio FG (98.2 FM in Paris) for specialized music programs : Global Tekno Magazine, Panoramix, I-Tek…
In 2000, Niko began the Nuwerk project ! This same year, he created a team of electronic artists called Synkrone, an audio and visual association for live-acts and records production…

Since that, Nuwerk’s cursus has been very specific : many productions for his own label Synkrone and others (like the E-Beat label distributed by Neuton and Kubik/PIAS)… many live-acts in Paris (Batofar, Glaz’Art, Salon Mix Move…), in Strasbourg (La Laiterie, Molodoï, Palais des Fêtes, Salle de la Bourse…), in Montpellier (Villa Rouge…), in Grenoble (Arakiss, Georges V…), in Metz (Le Tunnel) or in Brighton (Spor 23 Festival)… some collaborations (like the track with Lapsed from USA)… some compilations (PIAS and others)… some radio shows (France Culture, RBS…) !

Nuwerk reviewed by the media :
France Culture (Radio) : “The Multipistes sessions in Alsace always invite us to discover some new musical talents, supplying a fresh and varied production… Nuwerk’s world is a world which sends us to other universes like those of Kraftwerk, Front 242, a germano-belgian axis that seems natural for a native of Strasbourg, but a world which is not focused on the past…”
Coda (Magazine) : “Influenced by Electronic Body Music, Nuwerk visits other 80s… Front 242 and D.A.F. are you there ?”
Only For DJ’s (Magazine) : “Electro and techno addicts, here is a delight !”
Trax (Magazine) : “Nuwerk refines a techno sound with a dancefloor bias. Highly recommanded for powerful sensations !”
Polystyrene (Magazine) : “The dark and punchy music of Nuwerk is fully in the groove…”

NUWERK LIVE PA (SYNKRONE/AXESS CODE – FRANCE) – Part II

http://www.nuwerk.com/
http://www.myspace.com/nuwerk

The second part of the program is a special invited guest from France named, NUWERK LIVE PA (Synkrone/Axess Code), he does his own live electro-techno with EBM and Industrial influences which has a contagious dancing mood.

Biography Nuwerk Live PA: Niko, aka Nuwerk, proposes an energetic techno sourced by electro sequences and analogical sounds…

Biography Reeko Live PA:

One of Spain’s newest and most promising producers of techno music is Juan Rico, aka Reeko. At only 22 years old, this native of Oviedo, Asturias, has managed to do what has taken other top DJs years to accomplish – performances in Spain’s best clubs and recognition amongst Europe’s most exclusive techno scenes.

Reeko initial stages as a DJ date back to 1997 when, at the age of 17, he started playing at clubs in Asturias and León. In 1999 Reeko began to experiment with producing tracks from a home studio and developed the dark, aggressive sound for wich he is currently identified.

The breaking point of Reeko’s career occurred about two years ago when he began to concentrate in his music with more fervor and stepped up his productions by adding more technology to his home studio. Reeko has been influenced by the intense sounds emerginf from the likes of Birmingham, and he uses these influences to create his own industrial sound. Reeko captures and re-captures listeners by filling his live sets with a series of climatic points, adding a touch of organized insanity to his sound.

From this special sound combined with his fascination in the human psychosis, phobias and fears envolved the inspiration for his label, Mental Disorder, and his first vinyl release “Psychiatric Hospital”, which continues to be his most sold and sought after vinyl all over the world.

In Spain reeko has played in Spain’s finest clubs like La Real (Oviedo), Space of Sound (Madrid) and Octopus (Pontevedra), as well as in top music festivals like Live Dance Festival (Satisfaxion – Almería).

Reeko is beginning to launch his performance career beyond Spain to venues in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Holland and Belgium. During his first ventures outside of Spain he has already shared the booth with some of the world’s most important techno DJs, all of which have praised Reeko for his musical innovations and carry his tracks in their bags.

He is currently one of the most prestigious producers of Europe’s techno scene, and he has worked internationally for labels such as Theory, Main Out, Integrale Muzique, Deafmosaic, Emergece, Inceptive, Rxxistance, Trece Records, Infraestructure (New York).

Biography Dave Tarrida:

Dave Tarrida’s 16-year Techno career began in 1991 at Edinburgh Scotland’s legendary Sativa Sound System. Selling his Fender Mustang and Marshall amp to buy turntables, Dave’s DJing and creative input at Sativa gained the Scottish scene worldwide status from its DJs and guests including Irvine Welsh, respectfully tipping his hat at Sativa in “Malibu Stork Nightmare”. Love for the music and pure vision maintained the club’s powerful following and strong say within the UK scene with acts like the Scottish debuts of Dave Clarke and a then unknown Cristian Vogel in his first-ever live set, further Sativa achievements included the British debuts of Claude Young, DJ Hell, Electric Indigo, Adam X and most notably the first-ever live shows of ‘local guys’ Neil Landstrumm and Tobias Schmidt. Dave’s DJing brought him into the early-90s free party circuit, travelling and playing Northern Europe but returning to Edinburgh in 1993 to set up his Sativae label with Sativa co-organizer Steve Glencross. Today Sativae’s cult output not only highlights Dave’s vital hand and ear within the scene but still narrates the most important chapters in UK underground Techno history, mirrored by the debut release from Neil Landstrumm as part of Blue Arsed Fly with Cristian Vogel, the three vital Tobias Schmidt EPs and other capital releases from artists Subhead, Jamie Lidell (Super_Collider), Justin Berkovi and most recently Tube Jerk (aka Tim Wright). The label’s extensive discography also reflects the broad-based nature of Dave’s interest in Techno, as DJ Hell and Americans Adam X and Chance McDermott also feature strongly in the backcatalog. The Sativa club nights ended in 1996 but got Dave more trans-Channel airtime in Europe and particularly Germany and Belgium, bringing his UK new school sound to audiences in all the veteran clubs including Tresor, Ultraschall, Stammheim, Douala, Prag, The Omen, Loop, Funky Green Alien, I.O. and Cube. Dave became a regular visitor to the US as well, touring NYC, the Midwest, and California with Neil Landstrumm and Tobias Schmidt. But after and between the parties, Dave slowly began to reveal his studio sides beginning in 1996 as ‘Pujol’ on Neil Landstrumm’s “World Rallying” EP followed up by his Tresor debut with Tobias Schmidt on “The Test” EP. The first solo appearances began with top-notch imprints Mosquito, Predicaments and Sativae before his “Postmortem Pop” and “Scream Therapy” EPs on Tresor paved the way for his “Paranoid” debut album in 2001. “Paranoid” revealed not only good tunes, but the two sides to Dave Tarrida’s character as well. There’s the Dave Tarrida production side, defining his devoted adherence to pure sound: still extreme and on an experimental slant but reduced to a searching and deeper psychology in mind. But then there’s the Dave Tarrida club DJ side… nasty Techno mixing a raging high-tech attack of Sheffield bleep sophistication with aggro-punk grooves from early Rave and basslines. It’s well known that he plays raw and hard but undeniably funky so just for the fans he released his notorious “Plays Records” cd-mix (2001), put together like nobody else in the scene could and highlighting his ten-years of Techno floor experience. NOW — Propelled by constant touring in continental Europe and Britain, Dave’s regular appearances at massive techno festivals like Sonar and the Berlin and Mexico Love Parades have built him followings that brought him to Japan and Australia. His 1999 move to Barcelona has earned him area club residencies as well as a place in the sun between gigs ands traveling. With continuous output landing in compilation and remix work, including collaborations with Funk D Void (”Supa Hammer”), Tobias Schmidt (”Spanish Winter”) and Cristian Vogel (”Big C”), The “Life’s A Glitch” LP in 2003 , on Sativae Recs was followed by singles on Neue Heimat, germany, Dancefloor Killers from Toulouse to name a few. Some of the releases we can expect soon, are new epâ..¿½..¿½s for both Tresor, and Cristian Vogels new label, Sleep Debt Recs, as well as a remix of Chicks on Speed.— M.Snow

DAVE TARRIDA (TRESOR / SATIVAE) – SPAIN– PART I

http://www.myspace.com/davetarrida
http://www.tresorberlin.de/

For this first part of the program, DAVE TARRIDA (Tresor / Sativae), with his exclusive set recorded on the 12th anniversary year of Humpty Records Röhre in Stuttgart ,Germany. Dave is one of the most important artist of actual techno, doing one of his set with different mix of diverse sintethised fases without any limit in fusion techno.

Biography Dave Tarrida: Dave Tarrida’s 16-year Techno career began in 1991 at Edinburgh Scotland’s legendary Sativa Sound System.

Vector Commander is the oficial techno project of DJ Alex Strunz, consisting of techno music without fronteer and fusions of different and variety of styles.
The format of his live pa, follows an analogic direction into Techno, having several influences in Electro, Industrial/EBM without any boundaries and always with the live intervention being its key issue.

Dj Alex Strunz always liked electronic music, since the beginning by groups like New Order, Front 242 and Depeche Mode.

The Vector Commander project begun in 2002, at the time a mix of Techno and EBM (Electronic Body Music) and its constant industrial influences in his music.

Productions that influenced his EBM styles are: Front Line Assembly, A Split Second, Project Pitchfork, Nitzerebb, Front 242 and several Techno dj such as: Speedy J, Chris Liebing, Sven Vath, Thomas P. Heckmann, Terence Fixmer, Christian Varella, Dave Clake, Adam Beyer, Ritchie Hawtin.

The “Detroit Strunz” piece was first done on vinyl by the seal ‘Brasil with S 002’ (Ep-2002), having also other dj performances by: Murphy (Brasil with S/ Definition Records) and Philip Braunstein (Dark House/Brasil with S/ Superbra). The same year was also one independent collection having 11 titles and some special participants.

Halfway through 2005 The Vector Commander project was changed to reach new fusions and sonorities leaving behind the analogical sound, but keeping always the Dark dancing atmosphere.

Towards the end of 2005, caused by a deep research in experiences, new equipment and a new technology appeared in his LIVE PA with analogical lines but without any boundaries and always with live intervention as a key factor. Thus was incorporated new effects, vocoders in live situation by Alex Strunz creating a real Techno show.

Biography:

A stalwart of the UK electronic music scene since 1994 Neil Landstrumm has released work on many of the most recognised labels in the industry. Starting with Peacefrog, shifting gears to Berlins’ Tresor Records he then upped the bass-game onto arguably the UKs’ most important electronic label of the moment, Planet Mu. Neil Landstrumm is an artist who always seems to be at the spearhead of experimental, dancehall low frequency electronics. After a lengthy sabbatical in New York, the native Scot is now settled back in Edinburgh where he continues to make music and operate his label project, Scandinavia .Neil has toured relentlessly worldwide, supporting each years releases with uncompromising live shows using a plethora of sound hardware. Never an artist to rest on his laurels and churn out the same old, he has built a career on being unpredictable and open to new perspectives from which to hone his sound. A pioneer of new styles within techno, often copied and imitated Landstrumm has a strong pedigree within the scene. Unaligned to any one genre, upfront and heavy, he makes music for all-comers to the rave . Landstrumm steers his way through 2007 with refreshing abandon and a new LP due late Spring on Planet Mu records called “Restaurant of Assassins” With the heaviest subs this side of Chapeltown, Landstrumm seeks new lows with “Restaurant of Assasins” bringing together classic UK techno vibes and modern dubstep with a refreshed rave sensibility. Neil hijacks dubstep structure and its “on-the-three’s” approach but adapts it to his signature sound so identifiable from the decades previous productions. Undeniably proud of the UK’s heritage in electronic music and clearly passionate about the influences in his musical ouput, Landstrumm has a talent for bringing it all together in unusual and creative packages. Chasing the Great Northern Raves from the Happy Mondays and Yorkshire Bass N Bleep scene, to contemporary dubstep you can follow Landstrumms’ vision of the ravestep sound in 2007 with “Restaurant of Assassins”. An unsettling cartel of badman and plain wrong-uns….. It’s live hardware electronics at it’s very best.

Biography:

speedy j, aka jochem paap, is a cantankerous type. always shifting the boundaries, forever questioning the norm, this rotterdam producer has for over a decade now produced some of the most startling electronic music to be recorded in the last ten years. he was initially lauded as a technocrat extrordinaire courtesy of his debut album releases “g spot” and “ginger”, both lessons in fluid, functional techno. however, he quickly established a reputation as the enfant terrible of the electronic scene thanks to two albums of astonishing originality “public energy no 1″ and “a shocking hobby”. gone were the smooth lines and sleek rhythms of yore, to be replaced by brutal, yet strangely human, caustic beats that defied convention and introduced new lexicons into the techno dictionary. returning with his latest album, “loudboxer”, he has utilised his decade’s worth of knowledge to produce a harsh and direct album that is on first name terms with the rhythms of the dancefloor. like many of his contemporaries, paap found a route to where he is today via the concurrent growth of both hip-hop and electronic music in the early 1980s. an adolescent fixation with the stark modernity of groups such as kraftwerk and depeche mode and their, at the time, idiosyncratic approaches to music making created a sense of intrigue in the young speedy j. armed only with a rudimentary understanding of the processes of music making, he set about creating basic cut and paste efforts looping sound backwards and forwards on antiquated and outdated machinery. undeterred by the primitive nature of his work, by his early teens in the mid ‘80s, he had notched up his first production credit. equally important at this early stage was his love of hip-hop and its attendant dj culture and he was soon to garner an alias, courtesy of his ferocious djing skills, that would hang around for the rest of his career. yet the catalyst that would ultimately shape the next 15 years was a dutch pirate radio station, ‘night moves’, which introduced paap to the acid sound. sensing his destiny, he began in earnest a voyage of discovery which would ultimately see him proclaimed as one of the leading lights in european techno and beyond.
